Uncompromising pursuit of visibility, durability, operability and wearability required to challenge the world’s highest peaks.
In 1956, a party of Japanese climbers became the first ever to reach the summit of Manaslu, an 8,163-meter peak in west-central Nepal whose Sanskrit-based name means “mountain of the spirit.” PRO TREK chose this eloquent name to crown the watch that represents the summit of its achievements. The advanced new PRX-8000T MANASLU model benefited at every turn in its development from the expert advice of PRO TREK advisor Hirotaka Takeuchi, the only Japanese mountaineer to conquer all 14 of the world’s peaks that rise above 8,000 meters.
Every feature has been painstakingly designed assuming use at the highest elevations. The high-contrast face remains clearly visible in low-oxygen environments, for example. The robust, reinforced structure can withstand severe mountain environments. And the highly sensitive sensor technologies contribute to appropriate actions during a climb.
MANASLU has evolved to even greater heights.
